The latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS has been released and it includes a bug fix for an important ActiveSync issue affecting meetings. If you’ve not heard about this issue, you can read more about it here and on the Exchange Team Blog here.
The fixes included in this release include a few other fixes, but nothing mentioning the AutoDiscover issues present in iOS 6:
This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
- · Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air
- · Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
- · Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
- · Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
- · Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the mobile network in some instances
- · Consolidated the Use Mobile Data switch for iTunes Match
- · Fixes a Passcode Lock bug that sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
- · Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
Update 17:55: After testing, the AutoDiscover bug still exists. This issue manifests itself when the user’s UPN is not their email address (quite common!). In such a scenario, AutoDiscover fails and you must enter the Exchange server name. I’ve reported this to Apple as bug ID # 12617271
