HAProxy for Exchange 2013 – How to roll your own protocol-aware load balancer

Long-time readers of this blog will no doubt be aware of my HAProxy virtual appliance for load balancing Exchange 2010. I’ve not yet had time to create a version 2.0 with Exchange 2013 support – however it’s certainly not something I have forgotten about.

In this new article for SearchExchange, I take a look at how easy it is to set up a simple Ubuntu server and set it up as a Load Balancer. From installing a new Hyper-V virtual machine, installing updates to adding IP addresses, you’ll see it’s actually simpler than you might imagine, and with Exchange 2013’s simpler requirements for load balancing just as good as commercial equivalents:
