Tony Redmond joins us to talk Teams migrations, Ignite 2019 and much more on Episode 33

Jason, Tony and Steve (with Van Hybrid getting in on the action)

Last Monday we were at (and helped organise) Evolve Conference 2019 – an community driven conference in the heart of the UK, where MVPs and other experts share their knowledge with others. As well as a day full of amazing sessions covering a variety of Microsoft 365 and Azure topics – it’s also a great opportunity to sit down and record a podcast before we all get together again at Microsoft Ignite, where the pace is decidedly more hectic.

Tony Redmond kindly agreed to join us to sit down and chat – for the second time – Tony joined us whilst we were over in Bellevue in March last year, and like last time we chatted about some of the topics that are quite complex for a lot of Office 365 professionals – Teams and tenant migrations and security and compliance. We covered some similar ground last year with Tony so it’s quite interesting to see how far things have (and in some cases haven’t) moved along in the last eighteen months. They say things move quickly in the cloud, right?

With Microsoft Ignite 2019 just around the corner we also pressed Tony for some predictions for what we might see announced at Ignite. It’s a dangerous topic for MVPs to cover, but Tony navigates the subject magnificently.

As always we start with show notes for every episode. On today’s show they were a bit loose – as a conversation with Tony is always free-flowing, but we managed to mostly stay on-topic.

  • Teams Tenant to Tenant migrations – how are things looking
  • What challenges exist with eDiscovery today?
  • What to expect at Ignite 2019?

And – the All About 365 podcast of course will be back at Microsoft Ignite, with four podcasts to record live at Ignite as part of the official speaking schedule for the week. We’ll be recording on the following days in the Podcast Studio area

  • Monday November 4th, 6PM
  • Tuesday November 5th, 9:50AM
  • Thursday November 7th, 11AM
  • Friday November 8th, 8:30AM

If you are around feel free to drop by – we’ll be arriving before we start recording and record for up to around 45 minutes. We’ll be covering some really interesting topics, which will stay under wraps for now – and will be joined by some very cool guest.

And of course, as always, you’ll find Episode 33 above, and at our podcast site, on iTunes,SpotifyTuneIn RadioStitcherGoogle podcasts and you can subscribe with your favourite podcast app using the feed. If you’ve got any suggestions for what you’d like to hear on the next shows, let us know. You’ll find us on Twitter as @SteveGoodman and @jaywynn. and Tony at @12Knocksinna.
